I mean, many popular games get mods by fans or even entirely new games made such as Super Mario 3 so why hasn't Battlefront 3 been made by fans? Perhaps we could find quite a few good modders and get them to create a very big mod for Battlefront 2 so that if we may never get Battlefront 3 we can atleast get something close to it. To whoever wants to do this look very closely at the leaked gameplay and try to replicate that as good as possible.

Probably because you would get sued.

No Nitro, not for money I mean just a massive mod to Battlefront 2 to expand the experience to near Battlefront 3 made by the fans for the fans.
You can only mod to a certain extent. If you wanted to get BF3 (ground to space for instance) you would need to code a new game because that's new tech and not just rearranging objects.RAWDOG 262 wrote:No Nitro, not for money I mean just a massive mod to Battlefront 2 to expand the experience to near Battlefront 3 made by the fans for the fans.

Well, you could scale it down a bit but I have seen mods like the Capital Strike mod which have the Star Destroyers near the ground with no lag. So maybe just make some of the ships near Coruscant for instance and a little bit higher up there would be space and a few bigger ships up there.
So it would still require some sort of new technology for the space battles to be fluid or even possible.RAWDOG 262 wrote:...and a little bit higher up there would be space and a few bigger ships up there.

There's already something like that, it's a mod for call of duty 4.

Well, guess you got me on the near space aspect but what if a group of really talented modders created the game from scratch? Perhaps they could create something close to it.
So we're looking for some game developers (as modders wouldn't be much help coding) to create sequel to Battlefront 2. It seems we are back to what we all want: Lucas Arts to make a sequel.RAWDOG 262 wrote:...but what if a group of really talented modders created the game from scratch? Actually Scott, a lot modders already no how to code with computing languages such as c or c++ and can create games. Most modders who are good often become game designers.
If someone is going to take on something like Battlefront 3 they wouldn't be modders. They'd be coders who work as developers. Modders do often become game developers because they like designing.RAWDOG 262 wrote:Actually Scott, a lot modders already no how to code with computing languages such as c or c++ and can create games. The two skills are fairly divided. It's just so happens that some talented modders also learn how to code.

There are plenty of mods fr Battlefront II that expand it's gameplay.
Dark Times
BF1 Conversion Pack
Battlefront Extreme
Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Take your pick - They're all pretty decent mods.
