You do realize Mr. Lucas owns the trademark, genre, even accessories to anything star wars related. So don't say he doesn't get the final decision.

How about this: he doesn't. If anyone wants to use his trademark, though, they need to make sure he knows about it beforehand.

Then he can sue them for copyright infringement and they can end up in one massive legal mess.

Well every Star Wars game has Lucas Arts as a publisher right? If that is true (which I'm almost certain it is) than there is not really anything anyone can do. You'd have to pay Lucas Arts for the branding or get chosen to develop it by Lucas Arts (and they can't just go and get IW or BioWare to do it for them). They get small, who the hell are those guys, sort of developers. Which is why so many Star Wars games suck. Plus many big and successful companies are more interested in creating new IPs rather than games in the Star Wars era. People like new and face it, Star Wars isn't that. Now I'm not shooting the idea of BFIII down, just the idea of any big developer creating it.

First of all, don't say that "LucasArts licensing is dumb." LucasArts does not license the Star Wars merchandise; Lucas Licensing licenses the merchandise, including video games. Get your facts straight.

Second of all, if you do a little more research online it shows that those screenshots were mockup's of what IGN thought the interface was going to be like.

Does that mean they are smart? Also, I have not been able to find who said that. No one mentioned LucasArts Licensing. In fact, there was only one other use of the word dumb by anyone (which was me) when I referred to LucasArts marketing.

A link would be nice considering I couldn't find anything about these being IGN mockups.
