It does not. It may have a few but it does not have even close to all. Elite Squadron has no free flying to space and inside a ship without cut-scenes. It does not have the level the demonstrator was flying around. It does not have that one really cool cut-scene.Grpeephole303 wrote:If you play elite squadron it has all of the parts you see in the leaked content as gameplay

The reason it does not have that is the PSP and the DS cannot handle such a scene However it does have flying from ground into space ships With cutscenes added. The reason there are cutscenes added is to make the map bigger Notice how small the ships are on the outside? youd never fit the inside of those ships on the shits you fly around.Slicer4427 wrote:It does not. It has most of the content on the psp version
However content such as riding that speeder throught that corridor i have seen screenshots of that on the DS version.
They took the ps3/xbox360 version and split it into psp and ds each getting seprate parts.
My hope is lucasarts is making a new ps3 version of battlefront that is seprate from elite squadron as well.

I highly doubt they used any actual code from BF3 in Elite Squadron, but it seems obvious that it was used as some kind of inspiration.

it was the same game. had the same characters same cutscene same sections of mapsAnthonyOstrich wrote:I highly doubt they used any actual code from BF3 in Elite Squadron, but it seems obvious that it was used as some kind of inspiration.
see this what i assume happend
free radical whent out of buisness and it was reported that it was given to rebellion
so they dumbed down the game and made a psp game so they could release it faster giving it renegade squadron controlls and taking what they had from bf3.

Jedi Initiate

I own Elite Squadron, it wasn't as good as the leaked footage from what I could tell. I completed the campaign, and played all the maps available for multiplayer. I think they may have taken the ideas from Free Radical, but I think they just remade it themselves.
There is another possible explanation for Elite Squadron:Grpeephole303 wrote:it was the same game. had the same characters same cutscene same sections of mapsAnthonyOstrich wrote:I highly doubt they used any actual code from BF3 in Elite Squadron, but it seems obvious that it was used as some kind of inspiration.

While Free Radical was developing the console/PC BF3, LA might have commissioned Rebellion to make handheld ports (similar things happened with TFU and Republic Heroes, too). But when Free Radical went bust and BF3 cancelled, LA might have instructed Rebellion (who were still operating) to rename their ports into a standalone title. This way, BF3 would not be the mediocre handheld game it was supposed to be, and so LA could wait until they got another developer to make the console/PC BF3s.

This could be a possibility and im willing to accept that however if they make Bf3 i dont think it will have anything to do with the previous released footage and be a completely diffrent gamedrunken hutt wrote:There is another possible explanation for Elite Squadron:Grpeephole303 wrote:it was the same game. had the same characters same cutscene same sections of mapsAnthonyOstrich wrote:I highly doubt they used any actual code from BF3 in Elite Squadron, but it seems obvious that it was used as some kind of inspiration.

Just was talking with an ex-Free Radical employee on Twitter and he informed me that their version of Battlefront 3 was 90% done when the plug was pulled. He said management changes at the publisher(LucasArts) caused perception to go from hot to cold almost overnight.
90%? That sounds like an exaggeration. I would be curious what his position during development was, how he knows it was 90% and proof of him saying it. Not that I disbelief you, it's just that I disbelief the number. 90% would imply that Lucas Arts just wanted to burn buckets of money.RogueStarkiller wrote:Just was talking with an ex-Free Radical employee on Twitter and he informed me that their version of Battlefront 3 was 90% done when the plug was pulled. Here http://www.linkedin.com/in/danielduke is his LinkedIn page and here http://blog.dannyduke.com/ is his personal website.
Here is the convo we had:
----------------------------------------------------------------
@HRastapopulous(this is me)
@Dan_Duke Hey just wanted to tell ya how disappointed I was when I saw footage of your Battlefront project and then it got cancelled.
@Dan_Duke(ex-FreeRadical employee)
@HRastapopulous thanks mate, blood sweat, tears and a lot of late nights went into that project. Such a shame the plug got pulled. #GameDev
@HRastapopulous
@Dan_Duke What happened with that project, man? Would've been great if LucasArts had let you finish it
@Dan_Duke
@HRastapopulous management changes at the publisher meant they went from being really happy to really worried about it overnight.
@HRastapopulous
@Dan_Duke Since you guys are no longer developing the game, do you have any old pictures lying around?
@Dan_Duke
@HRastapopulous I do, but I've seen other ex-FRD staff post stuff and then get told to take it down again. Not really something I can share.
@Dan_Duke
@HRastapopulous sorry mate
@HRastapopulous
@Dan_Duke I understand. Thanks for sharing. What percentage done was the game?
@Dan_Duke
@HRastapopulous would about 90% shock you? What a waste!
@HRastapopulous
@Dan_Duke What a complete waste. I would've been heartbroken and probably drunk for two weeks straight. You think Spark is making it now?
@Dan_Duke
@HRastapopulous its possible, but there's nothing conclusive in the PS(note:PlayStationLifestyle) article.
@Dan_Duke
@HRastapopulous Rebellion had a crack at it after us and released elite squadron from a stripped down version of our game, so maybe LA have passed the baton again
----------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, and everyone please, do not start tweeting this guy with random questions. He was nice enough to share this info with me from what sounds like a particularly sore point in his professional career.

So I guess money burning would be an accurate description. It's a bit strange how an environmental artist knew this figure, but I don't know how things were run at the studio so my perception is probably off.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I don't know, but he used to work there so I'm taking his word for it. He did say "about" 90%. I'm sure he was privy to the dailies.Scott wrote:So I guess money burning would be an accurate description. You should see if he will do an interview with the site. It would be nice to hear some of the tidbits that they had ready to go. It would give good publicity for his personal site.
